The Black Elephant Hostel is a vibrant and comfortable space one block from the Old Port. Our location cannot be beat, as we are nestled among some of the finest eateries, shopping, and entertainment in Portland. We are also steps from the waterfront.

The Hostel "Studio" is a studio apartment with a completely private space for up to two. Located on the fourth floor, the apartment has a queen size bed with its own bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. It includes access to all hostel common areas.

The space

Our hostel is a home away from home where you can kick off your shoes and relax. Start your mornings with free locally roasted coffee, and end your days chatting with other guests in our comfortable lounge or garden space.

Our funky decor and fun vibes will leave you feeling energized and inspired. Don't forget to peruse our guestbook and add your drawing to our chalk wall before you leave!

All guests have access to our communal lounge, kitchen, and outdoor garden space. The hostel sleeps up to 60 people when fully booked.
