We're only a mile from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, on good roads, set back from the road in the trees for privacy and privately-owned for that personal touch.

The Lazy Bear Chalet is nestled in the foothills of the Smokies, about a mile from the Pigeon Forge parkway. The rustic mountain atmosphere is right in front of you, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and beamed cathedral ceilings. The natural wood finishes and a classy warm ambiance welcomes you to your home-away-from-home. Enjoy complementary gourmet Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate in the well-equipped kitchen, with all the comforts of home.

RECENT UPGRADES: All TV's replaced with flat screen TVs with Roku/Netflix/Hulu, new theater room with real theater seats, surround sound, huge 75" TV!

Step out onto one of the three decks and spend your evenings grilling steaks on the gas BBQ, enjoying a favorite cocktail, or soaking in the private hot tub after a long day of exploring Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Keep an eye out for local wildlife! Bears, Raccoons and other critters are common in the area, but won't bother you unless you leave food or trash out.

When you’re ready to head inside, gather in front of the stone fireplace to keep nice and toasty warm.

This home has everything you need to keep you and the kids entertained, including TVs in EVERY bedroom with built-in Roku (Netflix, Hulu Live, etc). The Theater boasts real movie theater seats, a massive 75" flat-screen TV, with Spectrum Cable, Netflix, Hulu, DVD, high-definition Blu-ray, mood lighting, and a booming surround sound audio system.

In the Game Room there is a pool table, a card/game table, wet bar with beer refrigerator, and french doors that open onto the deck. The Living Room has Spectrum Cable and a Blu-day/DVD player.

In the kitchen, you'll find all the cooking necessities you expect at home plus a toaster, crock-pot, blender, coffee machine, and Keurig gourmet coffee maker. Complementary coffee, tea, cream & sugar, and a spice rack are included. Whip up a feast for your loved ones and gather around the wooden dining table to enjoy your meal. For your convenience, a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer are all provided, along with all necessary bed linens, towels, handsoap, dishsoap, laundry & dishwasher detergents, and trashbags.

With Great Smoky Mountain National Park only a short 20-minute drive away, the adventures are endless! Pack your hiking boots and be sure to bring your camera, as some of the country’s most remarkable mountain scenery is right at your fingertips. When the snow begins to fall, head over to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area to spend the day cruising along the slopes, and then end your day at the Smoky Mountain Brewery for a taste of local craft beers before heading home.

Explore everything Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have to offer. Whether it’s a mountain hike, a causal walk, skiing through the Smoky Mountains, or a fun-filled visit to nearby Dollywood!

The cabin is privately owned and managed by a husband-and-wife team for that personal touch -- no Property Managers here! If you have a problem you call and I answer the phone personally, not some call center who-knows-where. If you need something, let us know what we can do to make your stay wonderful!

Notes

• Parking: There is space for about four cars without blocking each other in. But if you don't mind blocking each other, you could easily fit 6 cars.
• There is a private hot tub on the deck, but no pool
• The ground floor is wheelchair-accessible! (living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, deck)
• Security: There is a security camera that automatically records the front door of the property.
• Access: The front door has an electronic lock, you will be provided the code a few days before check-in.
• BBQ: There is a gas BBQ on the deck. Please note that it's just not feasible to clean this after every guest, and so you may have to clean it before use, depending on how the last guest left it.
• WiFi: There is excellent high-speed 100mb WiFi at the property

Room Layout

The ground level is wheelchair-accessible and includes the Living Room with sofa bed, Dining Room, Kitchen, two Queen bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and access to the main deck. One bedroom has a private bathroom and french doors to the deck, only a few steps from the hot tub. The other bedroom has an attached bathroom that is also accessible from the hallway.

The upstairs level includes a Master Bedroom Suite with a King bed with vaulted ceilings, a small futon for 1-2 kids, and an attached loft with two single beds. There is also a private bathroom. This arrangement is perfect for a couple who wants their kids nearby, while also providing privacy. (please note that the loft is open to the stairs, so if you have small children, please bring a baby-gate for safety.

The lower level hosts a huge Game Room, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a laundry room. One bedroom has a Queen bed and an attached bath, the other has a Queen bed and a large, comfortable double futon.

The Game Room includes a pool table, a bar with sink and refrigerator, a sofa bed, a game/card table, and a massive 75" theater HDTV system.
